For a site to rank higher in search engines such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing - the site must be search engine optimized. This is what is often referred to as 'Search Engine Optimization'. It is simply the creation of a 'search engine' friendly site.  Building a 'search engine' friendly site is really simple - very simple but it needs some investment especially time.

Millions of webmasters are unable to drive organic traffic to their sites - not necessarily because they don't have good content. But mostly because it is not search engine friendly. For your site to be search engine friendly, here are some good SEO tips you should follow;

PROVIDE HIGH-QUALITY CONTENT
To rank higher in search results, you only have to provide high-quality content. This is crucial for your reputation. Let us not deny this - quality content always attracts loyal audiences.

CREATE BACKLINKS
When I say this, I simply mean to say, share your content.  In the simplest of words, a backlink  could be defined as a link to your site from another site.  Today, good backlinks are an important factor in SEO.

ARE YOU ON GOOGLE OR OTHER SEARCH ENGINES?
If you want to find whether your site is included in the index of a search engine, perform a  search for your URL. For example, you have a site called 'myblog.com', perform the search for 'myblog.com' this way - 'site:myblog.com'.

If your site isn't included in Google's index, the following are some tips you should follow.

- Configure your site's robots.txt files properly. Make sure the web crawlers have access to your relevant pages.

- Submit the site to Google search console. Google Search Console provides free tools to help you submit your content to Google.

- Make sure  Google spiders  are able to crawl your contents effectively. Otherwise, your pages may never get indexed.

Apply the same procedure with Bing and other search engines and you're good to go. Your site is fully search engine friendly and search engine optimized. The web crawlers will visit your site often and your pages shall receive organic traffic from search engines.
