How To Add And Change Title Tags In Blogger

When I first heard about title tag optimization, I was complacent about it. But when a friend told me it is one of the most important SEO factors used by search engines to determine the importance of a web page, I had to open my mind and look into it. What I found surprised me.

The title tag is considered to be the most important on-page ranking factor. It is visible to a visitor on his SERP or on his/her browser window or tab. It will be a good idea to use a title that describes the page content because a bad title tag will drive away potential customers and visitors.

THE TITLE TAG IS A DESCRIPTIVE NAME

The title tag is merely a meta tag but it plays a key role in search engine optimization. This tag is the descriptive name of a page and it is used by search engines to determine the importance of a page. From an SEO point of view, you need it! Don't be complacent like I was. The title tag is located in the head section of your blog. What it looks like is shown below.

You'll have to replace the above code with the code below if you want to optimize your title tag for an effective search engine optimization i.e for more traffic. The tag above shows your blog's header title (Example; My Blog Space) before and sometimes after every post and page title. It is not recommended to use such tags especially if you want to win more clicks on SERP. To change that, you'll have to replace the code shown above with the new code below.

The new code eliminates your blog's header (My Blog Space) title from your blog posts and pages. However, you still have some work to do. For instance, let's say you want to add a title tag to your homepage, you have to replace the second line with your desired title. An example is shown below.

That's it, folks! We hope our article has been useful. If you follow the guide properly, you'll see the title tag in your browser window or tab when you visit your homepage (Example: ourblogspace.com).

Note: The title tag is located in the head section of your blog's HTML. Go to Template and then click on 'Edit HTML'.
